Lori L. (Mohlis) (Schnor) Sheils, 55, of Aurora, Colorado, died Sunday morning, May 4th at an Aurora Skilled Nursing Home.
Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday May 7th at Fairmount Mortuary in Denver Colorado. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday May 10th at United Methodist Church in Sumner with Pastor Michael Christie officiating. Visitation is at 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday May 9th at Becker-Milnes Funeral home in Sumner and for one hour preceding services at the church on Saturday. Interment will be at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Sumner.
Lori Mohlis, daughter of Donald Sr. and Laura (Kleppe) Mohlis, was born December 13, 1958 at Community Memorial Hospital in Sumner. She was baptized and confirmed at Salem Evangelical United Brethren Church. She graduated from Sumner High School in 1977. She was united in marriage with Dale Louis Schnor on February 24, 1979. Lori moved to Minnesota and was a homemaker for several years; she then moved to Texas and started her own construction clean up business. She once again returned to Iowa until moving to Colorado in assisting her sister Pearl in operating an auto body and towing business.
Lori enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, and hiking in the Colorado Mountains. She played on a local pool league with her son Jeff. Most of all, she loved driving her Audi convertible on the track and spending time with members of the car clubs.
Lori is survived by her daughter Jennifer Lynn (Schnor) Ford of Rowlett, Texas and Jeffrey Dale Schnor of Aurora, Colorado; her grandchildren, Adalyn Ann Ford and Elizabeth Grace Ford of Rowlett, Texas; her mother, Laura Grace Mohlis of Sumner; two brothers, Donald Eldon Mohlis Jr. and Randall Dean Mohlis of Sumner; two sisters, Pearl Mae Mattox of Aurora, Colorado and Tamara Jane Beach of Ames, Iowa; son-in-law, Darrell Theador Ford of Rowlett, Texas; sister-in-law, Liz Ann Mohlis of Sumner ; brother-in-law Scott Adam Beach of Ames, Iowa; future brother-in-law Matthew Lee Collins of Parker, Colorado; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Lori was preceded in death by a grandson, Darrell Christian Ford; father, Donald Eldon Mohlis Sr., and grandparents Ernest and Anne Mohlis, Harry and Dorathea Kleppe.
